SEFA Scholarship graduate Kaiyne Woolery scored his first goal for Tranmere on Wednesday night.
The 25-year-old scored the opening Rovers goal in a 2-2 draw with Wigan Athletic in the Papa John’s Trophy. The League Two side went on to win an extra point on penalties, securing their passage into the knockout rounds while knocking Wigan out.
Kaiyne has suffered an injury-hit start to the season after heading to Merseyside in the summer, joining from Swindon Town for an undisclosed fee, and will now be looking to lock down a first team slot as Tranmere aim to win promotion back to League One at the first time of asking.
