Well done to our Under 7s who visited Chelsea last week.

After previously gracing both the indoor and outdoor 3G surfaces at Cobham, the SEFA boys got to sample the superb grass pitches on offer as they took on Chelsea and other academies.

“It was a great day at Chelsea playing on the fantastic grass pitches which were unreal” said Joe Reeves, who took one of the two teams we took to Surrey.

“For me personally it was great to see the lads I have worked with on Saturday mornings showing how far they have come within the Academy – and that they are now playing against some of the best young players in the country.

“The boys did superbly throughout, the attitude and focus from the boys was a different class, all the lads helped each other out on the pitch and put in some excellent performances.

“All the boys received great feedback from the Chelsea staff who noted they always enjoy having us up at Cobham with the SEFA professionalism and style of play standing out.

“The boys also received some superb feedback from Jamie Redknapp whose son was playing for Chelsea. Jamie spent some time with the boys, asking them about their day and commenting on how good they looked in their SEFA gear.

“Meeting Jamie really was the icing on the cake of a superb day for all involved and we can not wait to head back up to Cobham soon!”

Meanwhile our Under 8s will visit Brighton & Hove Albion this Thursday. The SEFA boys will face the Albion and other sides at the their superb new training ground in Lancing. SEFA’s relationship with the Albion continues to go from strength to strength and we look forward to seeing them again this Thursday.
