Over forty SEFA players made the long journey north to Lancashire to take on the Clarets at their Gawthorpe Hall Training Ground.

As well as putting in some exceptional performances, the boys also got to take a tour of the first team facilties at Gawthorpe Hall and got to check out the first team’s boot room, gym and physio facilities.

“A massive well done goes to all the players involved who received unanimously positive feedback from the SEFA and Burnley coaches” said Lee Radford.

“As always when playing against professional clubs our players are faced with different and new challenges. Sunday was no different with players taking part in a variety of small sided games on tight pitches – something which the Burnley staff say they replicate throughout the club right the way up to and including the first team.

“As coaches we saw these tight games as a great opportunity to test our boy’s decision making and technique under pressure and it is fair to say they stepped up to the plate putting in some great performances across the board.

“My thanks firstly goes to Burnley for inviting us up to play and also giving us a tour of the first team facilities afterwards, but also to all the SEFA players and parents for travelling up with us and making it a great day which saw so many brilliant performances and smiles on faces!”

Stay tuned to our social media over the coming days for photos and video from the day!
