Soccer Elite FA are delighted to be a part of the new Youth Development League Southern Premier Division.
The new division has been formed this season to bring together the strongest teams from last year’s regional leagues in the south of England. The 2021-22 campaign saw great success for SEFA in what was our first year in the league, winning the East Division having only dropped two points, before winning the Champion of Champions final against Mansfield’s G3A Academy in a tense final back in May.
Our season begins on Wednesday with a short trip to Dartford, before we travel to Sutton United next week. The other teams in the league are Bromley, Croydon, Crystal Palace Volenti, Pro Direct Central London, Tooting & Mitcham United and West Ham United Foundation.
SEFA’s Head of Education Programmes Kieran Culleton said: “We are delighted to be a part of this new Premier Division.
“We really enjoyed our first year in the Youth Development League, with the quality and organisation of the league really standing out to us. There were some great teams across the southern regional divisions last season, so it makes complete sense to bring these sides together into one league. It is a testament to our setup – and more importantly to the talent of our players – that we are one of only two private academies to have secured a spot in this division.
“Our ‘A’ squad will compete in this league, while our ‘B’ squad will play in the South East Division, and we will select players from across our Maplesden Noakes, Brompton Academy / Chatham Grammar and SEFA College sites to play in these teams. We are looking forward to some fantastic games which will really challenge our players!”
