Our three SEFA Scholarship products who are now in full time employment with SEFA continue to go from strength to strength with the company.

Joe Reeves, Mikey Dalton and Connor Charlton all work on a full time basis in the SEFA office in East Farleigh near Maidstone.

All three staff members combine their time in the office with daily coaching whether it is at club coaching sessions, school clubs or Academy sessions.

Joe Reeves, who graduated from our Swadelands centre in 2013, runs our kit business alongside his coaching hours. “Gaining full time employment after the Scholarship really was the icing in the cake” said Joe.

“I deal with all the kit in the Academy from fixtures to customer orders. Alongside this I’m coaching every day and working with the guys in the office and learning all the time.”

Joining Joe and the rest of the full time team in September 2014 was Connor Charlton and Mikey Dalton. Two graduates of our Maplesden Noakes centre, where they worked with Andy Hessenthaler, the lads are now two mainstays of the SEFA staff working on projects across the company.

ConnorConnor now works in our Customer Service department working with our parents and players to ensure they get the most out of the SEFA experience.

In addition Connor coaches daily and works at both our Maplesden Noakes and Gallagher Stadium centres.

“I have had a great couple of months since coming in to work with SEFA on a full time basis” reflected Connor.

“My role includes dealing with customer enquiries and making sure a lot of the administrative elements, such as registers, are running smoothly and are up to date.

“I also get to coach daily and lead Academy sessions on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. This follows on from being a lead coach during the Academy’s 2014 Belgium Tour where I took one of Under 11 teams against the likes of Southend and Cambridge United.”

Since joining us on a full time basis three months ago, Mikey Dalton has already moved through our coaching pyramid and is now leading sessions at our Friday evening Elite Centre at Maplesden Noakes.

Mikey“Unfortunately I could not make the Belgium Tour as a coach due to prior commitments but I am looking forward to joining the boys for our 2015 tours to Rome and Belgium.

“It has been a dream to move straight from the Scholarship into working full time within football. I am constantly working at sessions and learning from the likes of Lee Spiller and Andy Hessenthaler.

“I think playing in the Scholarship stood me in good stead in terms of learning how to be a good coach and I am looking forward to continuing my learning over the comings weeks and months.”

SEFA Director and Scholars coach Lee Spiller concluded: “All the lads have been absolutely superb since they have come in to the company as key members of staff.

“There are many parts of the SEFA Scholarship that sets us apart from the rest and our full time employment opportunities are no different.

“Through the Scholarship scheme all our players are given the chance to impress away from the football pitch and there are numerous opportunities open to those who want to take them.

“Connor, Mikey and Joe all showed a great work rate and a desire to learn and push themselves – as a result we were delighted to offer them full time employment at SEFA.

“All three lads have moved into different sections of the company and are paving their way using their own individual skill sets.

“We currently have numerous Scholars working with us on a part time basis and they are all vying for a full time spot with the company come September 2015.”
