Scholars to enter SCL Development League

Soccer Elite FA are delighted to confirm our Scholarship has been accepted into the SCL Development League for the 2021-22 season.

A leading competition for full time football and education programmes, the league counts the likes of the Pro Direct Academy, Dartford, Sutton United and Whitstable Town among its number, along with the community schemes of professional clubs including Crystal Palace, Millwall, Charlton and West Ham United.

The agreement means our Scholars will take part in three competitions over the 2021-22 campaign: the SCL Development League, the Tactic League and the Kent Schools’ Academies League.

SEFA director Rich Radbourne said: “We are over the moon to finalise our Scholarship plans for the upcoming season, and put in place another important building block in what is a very big year for our Scholarship and our organisation as a whole.

“The three leagues we are now entered into will offer a varied, competitive and regular fixtures programme to sit alongside our showpiece games against pro club academies and semi pro first teams.

“Our entries into the Tactic and SCL leagues means that for the first time we will be playing league fixtures as a 100% independent Soccer Elite FA team, as opposed to being tied with clubs and schools as we have previously done over the years.

“This is a hugely important step for us and will allow us to deliver our coaching programme uninhibited by outside influences, something which will have a massively positive effect on all of our Scholars’ development. Bring on the 2021-2022 season!”
