Year 9 player Michael has been a joined the Premier League side after impressing on trial over recent weeks.

A stalwart of the SEFA Academy, Michael returned to us last year after a short stint at Charlton Athletic.

“Michael has been an unbelievable talent since day one” said SEFA Director of Coaching Lee Spiller.

“His work ethic, mentality and desire to be the best has paved the way for him to secure a place at one of the best youth setups in the country.

“In addition his game awareness, decision-making and range of passing are absolutely first class.

“It is a source of pride that after Munch moved on from Charlton he was happy to return to SEFA before being picked up by Southampton. That said, it is of course down to the previously mentioned attributes that caught the attention of the Southampton staff.

“We wish Munch all the best and look forward to watching his progress – well done mate!”

Michael’s dad Gary added: “Thanks to everyone at SEFA, the training Munch has received has always been of a superb standard and he has thoroughly enjoyed his time there.

“A special thank you to Lee Spiller who has always worked hard with Michael and offered him amazing advice and support since day one.”
