SEFA Scholarship graduate Kaiyne Woolery’s fine form for Tranmere Rovers continued on Friday night.
The 25-year-old scored a the only goal of the game as Rovers beat Brackley Town live on BBC Two in the Emirates FA Cup second round.
It was a stunning finish from Kaiyne, who made a near-instant impact after coming on as a second half substitute with the score locked at 0-0.
Woolery wasn’t the only familiar face to take part in the game however, with fellow SEFA alumni Tré Mitford starting up front for Brackley Town. Since graduating from our Scholarship, Tré has forged out a terrific semi-pro career, playing for National League North club Kettering Town before joining Brackley in October of this year.
After a lively first half which included a couple of good attempts at goal, Mitford was substituted halfway through the second period after picking up an unfortunate knock.
It was a true pleasure to see two of our graduates who have forged great careers in the game going head to head live on terrestrial television, and both lads did themselves proud.
