Fin pens a pro at Millwall

Congratulations to Academy graduate Fin Cotton who has turned professional at Millwall.

Fin has gone pro after an impressive two-year scholarship in South East London which saw him cement his place in the Lions’ title-winning under 21 side.

The creative midfielder’s journey in football began at the age of five at SEFA, demonstrating potential that saw him sign for Charlton Athletic at under nine.

After six years at Charlton Fin returned to the fold at SEFA, training on Friday nights and working to rebuild his confidence and develop his game. Thanks to Fin’s effort and dedication, he was ready for us to place him into Millwall at the back end of 2020.

SEFA’s Rich Radbourne said: “This is a special one for us, as Fin is someone who we have worked very closely with over the past three years in particular.

“Fin is a shining example of the fact that everyone’s journey is different, and everyone’s journey comes with setbacks and disappointments that can be overcome. After leaving Charlton, it would have been easy to decide that the ship had sailed in terms of pro football, but Fin’s devotion to the game ensured that he was someone Millwall wanted as a scholar, and is now someone they want as a professional player on their books.

“We are proud to have continued advising and looking after Fin on a day-to-day basis during his time at Millwall, and this pro deal is another big step and another box ticked for him.

“Well done Fin!”
