Congratulations to Academy graduate Daniel Quick who has signed a professional contract at Crystal Palace.
The 18-year-old centre back, who attended our Maidstone Academy, has turned pro after two impressive years as a full time scholar with the Premier League outfit.
The deal quickly follows the news that Charlie O’Connell, a former team mate of Dan’s at both SEFA and club level, had penned a two-year deal with Peterborough United. Tony Springett, who also trained with Charlie and Dan at our Maidstone centre, then at Maplesden Noakes, is a professional at Norwich City.
Rich Radbourne, who works within Palace’s recruitment department alongside his director role at SEFA said “As somebody with a foot in both the SEFA and Palace camps, it has been fantastic to see Dan’s progress over recent years which has culminated in him deservedly earning a professional deal.
“CPFC have been an established Premier League side for a number of years now and have a Category 1 academy, so to secure a professional contract is no mean feat and is a testament to Dan’s work rate and ability.
“I know how highly he was spoken of during his time at SEFA and it is always a pleasure to see players who we worked with as children having great success as young adults.
“Everyone at SEFA wishes Dan the best and looks forward to seeing him in the under 23s this season and hopefully pushing towards first team football in the future.”
