Charlton Challenge for SEFA

A selection of SEFA players from under 9 to under 14 will travel to Sparrows Lane next week to face Charlton Athletic’s academy sides.

A total of five SEFA Academy sides will face The Addicks on August 11 and 12 at the League One club’s first team training ground in South East London.

The games kick off our new fixtures programme in style as Covid restrictions are ended and clubs begin to open their doors once again.

SEFA’s Kieran Culleton, who also coaches at Charlton, said “After the enforced break we can’t wait to get our SEFA teams back up to Sparrows Lane for our annual set of fixtures.

“This will be a fantastic opportunity for our players to impress and potentially earn a trial at an academy which is consistently developing players for their first team in the EFL.

“Additionally it will be great to see our current SEFA players go up against some of our graduates who are now at Charlton, including Taku Muvhuti, George Short and Charlie Bell.

“A big well done to everyone who has been selected, this is a reward for some very encouraging performances during what has obviously been a difficult time over the past 18 months.”
