Canaries swoop for Under 12 duo
on October 4, 2014
Well done to Soccer Elite FA Under 12 players Jamie Hutchins and Tony Springett who have signed for Norwich City.
Both players have been a part of our Maplesden Noakes Elite Academy centre and have repeatedly impressed in both fixtures and training sessions.
In addition, Jamie took part in last year’s tour to Milan, putting in some outstanding performances both in the heart of defence and in midfield.
SEFA Director of Coaching Lee Spiller, who has worked extensively with both players said: “I am incredibly proud to see Tony and Jamie make the move to Norwich City.
“Both boys have always impressed both in terms of their ability and their desire to work hard and improve; Jamie has consistently stood out as a cultured defensive player while Tony’s speed and ability on the ball has caused problems to whoever he faces. Therefore it was no surprise to receive the news that a club of Norwich’s stature wanted to bring them on board.
“There is a plethora of talent at our Under 12 age group leading to sessions being of an unbelievable standard and intensity, accelerating the development of all players in the group. As a result is no shock to see individuals from this player pool now beginning to be picked up by professional clubs.
“This is a massive year for this age group, and if they continue to work hard and push themselves there is absolutely no doubt some others will follow in the footsteps of these boys.
“Norwich are a massive club and as a category 1 academy will provide Jamie and Tony with huge amounts of contact time and some of the best coaching available nationally. Both lads really have a superb opportunity to kick on and take their game to the next level and all at SEFA look forward to following their progress from afar. Good luck lads!”
