Academy update: Maplesden Noakes
on October 9, 2014
It has been a great start to the new season at Maplesden Noakes.
The atmosphere at the centre has been absolutely superb and we have welcomed plenty of new players to our existing core of players.
In addition we have also seen some exciting player movements both internally and with players signing on at professional clubs.
Year 8 player Kyle Thompson has moved from Monday Development to Monday Advanced, while Alistair Petrie (year 8) and Oliver Teare (year 5) have made the step up from Monday Advanced to our Friday Elite sessions.
Meanwhile, we have seen five players make the step up to professional clubs. Year 4 player Buddy Bigg joined Charlton Athletic where he will be joined by Teddy Isaacs who also made the move to The Valley over the summer.
Joining Norwich City are two players from our thriving year 7 group. Defender Jamie Hutchins, who attended our 2014 Milan Tour, has made the move to the Canaries and he was quickly followed by pacy forward Tony Springett.
In addition we have had one more player make the move to a Premier League side, be sure to check back tomorrow (Friday) for the full story.
Academy Head Coach Lee Radford said: “I am delighted for all the boys who have made positive moves over the last few months at Maplesden Noakes.
“It is great to see improvements and development across our Academy tiers with players making moves from our Monday Development to Friday Elite sessions.
“My congratulations goes to all the boys and we looking forward to seeing plenty more success stories over the coming months!”
