Both players have featured heavily for the Stones this pre season and did enough to earn permanent deals with Kent’s best supported non league club.

Both players have another year remaining as Scholars and will combine this with trying to win promotion from the Ryman League Premier Division with United.

Aaron, an energetic right back, spent last season at Ryman South outfit Whitstable Town where he earned rave reviews, while Ellis is a cultured midfield player who featured for Maidstone’s title winning Under 21 side last season.

Both players impressed for the Scholars last season as they took on the likes of Blackburn Rovers, Leeds United and Southampton, as well as embarking on a fruitful National Schools Cup run.

Speaking to maidstoneunited.co.uk, Stones manager Jay Saunders said: “These are two lads with a lot of potential and I am pleased to get them signed up for the new season.

“Being around the squad and working alongside the experienced players will only take their game on to the next level.”

SEFA Scholars coach Lee Spiller added: “I am delighted for Aaron and Ellis and they fully deserve their opportunities at Maidstone United.

“It is a testament to both players that at 16 and 17 years of age they have already managed to secure first team deals with a massive club like Maidstone.

“The deal once again reaffirms the superb relationship between ourselves and Maidstone which extends from the infant ages right the way through to the first team.

“Aaron and Ellis are living proof that hard work and a determination to improve and develop can lead to great things and I am sure they will do superbly for the Stones over the coming year.”
