SEFA and England U17 pair Alessia Russo and Katie Startup are set to travel to Los Angeles to compete in the NTC Invitational Cup.

England U17 manager John Griffiths will take his side to Los Angeles in February for matches against Japan, South Korea and the host nation, USA. The round-robin competition, known as the ‘U17 Women’s NTC Invitational’, will act as great preparation for the Young Lionesses’ final round of Euro qualifiers in late March.

The Lionesses will all meet in London before travelling over to the states early next month. They have 3 training days before they walk onto the StubHub Centre pitch in Carson, California on Thursday 11th February to face the hosts USA. The SEFA girls will also play their remaining 2 games at the home of MLS Giants LA Galaxy, where England great Steven Gerrard now plies his trade, against Japan and South Korea.

The tournament will promise to serve fantastic preparation for the Elite Round of Qualifications for The European Championships when they travel to Serbia where they will also be joined by Belgium and Iceland in Group 6.

Lessi and Katie  had already help book their side’s spot in the Elite Round after navigating their way through a qualifying group containing Poland, Croatia and Estonia. Those fixtures will be played between 24-29 March, where the group winners will secure a spot at the summer finals in Belarus.

Everyone at Soccer Elite would like to wish the girls the best of luck for what looks to be an exciting 2016.
