Both ladies are in the Three Lions squad to take part in the U17 Women’s NTC Invitational, a friendly tournament which also involves Japan, South Korea and the hosts USA.

The tournament will serve as vital preparation for the ladies who face the final round of European Championship qualifying in March when they face Serbia, Iceland and Belgium.

The NTC Invatational games will take place at venues including the 27,000 capacity StubHub Center, home to LA Galaxy.

We caught up with Alessia ahead of travelling out California: “I am looking forward to heading to the States. It’s a new challenge playing outside of Europe and we are facing some of the world’s best teams.

“There have been plenty of highlights so far in an England shirt but the biggest has to be being selected as captain and scoring eight out in Estonia [European qualifiers last year against Estonia, Ukraine and Croatia].

“Looking ahead to the future I want to keep on progressing, playing for England, reach the Chelsea first team and reach the highest level of football I can.

“SEFA definitely helped me along the way and improved my game massively. The coaching is top class and the pace of the game and level of the players is a different gear.”

All at SEFA would like to wish Alessia and Katie all the best as they start what looks to be a very exciting year with a bang.
