Wisso will join up with the Lions’ under 18s this week as he looks to earn a deal with the South London club.

The trial follows on from Josh’s selection in the England under 18 schoolboy squad – he has recently returned from Spain, playing against Villareal for the Three Lions.

Along with representing our Maplesden Noakes SEFA Scholars, where he is in his second year, Josh has also broken through into the first team at Ryman South outfit Sittingbourne this season, cementing his place in central midfield with the Brickies.

Wisso’s manager at Sittingbourne, Nick Davies, described the 17-year-old as “Good at everything. He’s physically strong, puts himself about, is a good size, good in the air and he can tackle, pass and shoot.”

SEFA Director and Maplesden Noakes Scholarship manager Lee Spiller added: “There is lots of talent in our Scholarship squads and Josh has reached the point where he is now looking to make that next step in his development.

“He has been absolutely fantastic recently and this has been reflected in his selection for England and now his trial at Millwall.

“Quality players continue to come through year after year, and we are seeing players who have had the benefit now of being with us since a very young age. Josh fits into this category having been an Academy player from 2009 to 2014, when he then started our Scholarship.

“Our track record for producing academy and professional players has caught the eye of many clubs who are now looking to quickly capitalise on the talent in the SEFA ranks.

“This is a very exciting opportunity for Josh and is one I’m sure he will grab with both hands.”
