SEFA are delighted to announce the launch of this greatly anticipated Scholarship programme for ages 16-19 that is leading the way in providing talented players with the opportunity to pursue their football dreams alongside continuing academic education attainment. The course is aligned to both F.A. & government specifications, ensuring that the entry process associated with the programme identifies the right candidates who will be committed to investing in their personal futures.
The academic syllabus associated with the Scholarship programme focuses on players pursuing BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Sport or BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Sport (Development, Coaching & Fitness) which is combined with daily structured 2 hour football coaching sessions that targets continuous development across all the core facets associated with modern day footballers. This integrated approach provides individuals with the best opportunity for future success, fulfilling their personal dreams & aspirations whether it is based within a sporting arena or in the wider corporate & business world.
Scholars will represent SEFA in the college league & will also play regular friendlies against professional clubs & representative sides, providing players with the ideal platform to exhibit their technical skills & all round capability to scouts & coaches alike from those clubs. In addition & where applicable, individual trials will be set up where players excel throughout the duration of the programme which will offer individuals the chance to ‘live their dream’ of becoming a professional footballer.
Throughout the programme scholars can expect to achieve FA coaching licences, first aid qualifications, work placements, secondments to professional clubs as well as exposure to top class European tournaments. Running alongside this is the opportunity to be fast tracked into a future coaching role within SEFA, providing all the necessary coaching standards & requirements are met.
