Development Centre Swadelands
The Development Centres provides the ideal introduction to focused & structured coaching that progresses players from the generic experience of SEFA Soccer Schools and other feeder programmes offered through the SEFA experience. It is primarily designed to offer local based players who have shown a level of aptitude for the game from all backgrounds an opportunity to access top level coaching in a structured & co-ordinated programme, based upon a fun & progressive culture of talent development. This philosophy is consistent across all age groups with a combination of 1:1, small groups & team focused drills being used to enable individuals to express their individual talent at every opportunity.
Through the blended coaching programme on offer, players are encouraged to become more technically adept when in possession of the football along with improved execution of different phases of the game relevant to their respective age & level of competence. It explores all the different facets associated with a modern day footballer, providing an experience that harnesses their individual passion & energy for the game with technical expertise from coaches who have played the game at the highest level.
During the structured programme coaches are constantly looking to identify players who have progressed sufficiently to move into the next level of the SEFA performance pyramid. This could be achieved through technical execution of drills & exercises during training sessions or through individual performances during game situations when scheduled fixtures against external sides are fulfilled. Everyone will get the opportunity to demonstrate their personal progress & it is this coupled with attitude & all round behaviour which are the factors considered when looking to move players into the next tier.
